This commitment requires developing a diverse and global network of benchmark vendors.

We hope these web pages serve you, our vendor community, by providing a centralized location for information to assist you in conducting business with MSA.

Ethics

At MSA, we believe high ethical standards are the foundation of a successful business. Vendor loyalty and respect from the communities in which we do business stem from our reputation as a fair and honest company.

We have the utmost confidence in the values and ethics of our employees and representatives including our vendor partners. The highest standards of integrity are to be expected in all business interactions. Any and all forms of corrupt business practices or conflicts of interest are strictly prohibited.

The MSA Global Code of Business Conduct and MSA Supplier Code of Conduct reflect the company mission and principle of accepting nothing less than fair and honest dealings with all individuals and entities to promote the continued growth and success of the Company.

Quality

There’s a reason MSA is known worldwide as “The Safety Company.” It’s because we harness precision engineering to craft the highest quality safety products possible so people across the world are able to work in the safest environments possible.

Put simply, safety is our mission. We believe that concepting, designing, and building the best safety solutions means we must look beyond the bottom line. For that reason MSA expects from all vendors that they develop and maintain an environment where Total Quality Management principles are practiced to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction. MSA requires vendors who provide products and services to do so in a manner that not only assures 100% compliance to contracts and specifications but also assures customer satisfaction. This must be accomplished in an environment of continuous improvement with a "zero" defects philosophy.

The Global Supplier Handbook (PDF) communicates MSA vendors of the minimum expectations MSA has regarding vendors’ quality management systems as a requirement of doing business with MSA.

We are proud of the work we do and we stand behind every product we make. Because we know people rely on us to protect their health and well-being. We work hard to earn the trust of our customers, and everything we do goes toward exceeding people’s expectations. As we often say at MSA, we make the world safer… one person at a time.

Inclusion

MSA recognizes that having a diverse vendor pool is a major competitive objective and a powerful business tool that not only support MSA mission and values, but also reiterates our commitment of giving back to our community providing access to support the efforts of federal, state and local governments to promote business opportunities for diverse business enterprises. This is a strategic business decision for gaining market access, growing our current base and pursuing new business through broader vendor participation

MSA’s vendor inclusion mission is to proactively identify, build relationships with, and purchase goods and services from certified small businesses, as well as minority-, women-, veteran-, LGBT-, and disability-owned businesses.

Our objectives to ensure diverse vendor inclusion are the following:

  • Actively seeking out certified diverse vendors that can provide competitive, high quality goods and services whose business model is aligned with our business strategy.
  • Ensuring the inclusion of diverse vendors as a part of our strategic sourcing and procurement process.
  • Communicating the value of vendor diversity both internally and externally to all stakeholders.
  • Leveraging our vendor diversity results to meet our clients’ vendor diversity requirements.

Partnership

MSA recognizes the value of developing close and long term relationships with vendors as an engine for growth and the best way to bring innovation to our customers.

The Cost Management Partnership Program encourages all vendors to look for continuous improvement opportunities within and it is a means by which vendors remain competitive and ensure the future growth of their business with MSA.
